Course Waitlists

If a course you are seeking is full you can add yourself to a waitlist for that course up until the registration deadline for that semester.

Being on a waitlist is not the same as being registered in a course, and does not guarantee that a spot will become available. Not all courses have waitlists.

Should you choose to be added to a waitlist, please be aware of the following waitlist registration process.

If a seat becomes available in the course you are waitlisted for, an email will be sent to your Student Email. You will have a limited amount of time indicated in the email to log into myTRU to register in the course. Normally you will have 48 hours to register. Beginning two weeks prior to the start of the semester the time will change to 24 hours.

If you do not register within the allocated time, you will be removed from the waitlist and the seat will be offered to the next student on the waitlist.

Please be sure to check your email daily if you are on a waitlist. Waitlist notifications will continue up to the end of the add/drop period of each semester. If you have not been offered a spot by the add/drop deadline we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate you in that class.

To ensure you don’t miss any important waitlist notifications, you can forward your TRU email to your personal email, following these instructions.

IMPORTANT: If you are still on a waitlist for a course at the start of the semester, you are expected to attend the course until the add/drop deadline to keep your spot on the waitlist. If you are not able to attend during that time, you must make prior arrangements with the instructor. Students may be dropped from the class roster/waitlist for non-attendance.
