**Due to the stat holidays on the Mondays of these weeks, these camps will be held Tuesday to Friday. The cost of the camp will be adjusted appropriately to reflect this change.
Campers will enjoy an interactive week of demonstrations, hands-on activities, group activities, building projects, university tours, outdoor activities, and games. Areas of science covered include: biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology (and more!). The best part is that campers get to do all of their own experiments! We have alternating A-Weeks and B-Weeks that offer different projects, so campers can come for 2 weeks of camp in the summer if they wish! Projects are different each and every year (except for your favourites), as we ensure the curriculum is not repeated for at least 7 years.
CURRENTLY PLANNING: At our Girls' Science Day Camp, five of our female instructors will be in attendance and we will do a variety of science experiments and outdoor activities. By providing positive female role models who all love science, we hope to empower your daughters, building their confidence, and hopefully sparking an interest in science and related fields.
EUReKA! has decided to run two weeks of GIRLS ONLY CAMP this summer! Studies have shown that girls learn better in female-only environments, resulting in more females pursuing future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. According to a study done by the Goodman Research Group, girls who graduate from all-girls schools are six times more likely to consider majoring in STEM during their post secondary education. This has led us to try a week where all ages of science camp will be just for EUReKA!'s young lady scientists. This will take place during Week 2 of camp, July 8 - 12th, for our Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Technology camps. We will show your daughters the role science plays in their every-day lives, encouraging them to explore and discover new things each and every day. With the help of strong female role models (our lovely, intellegent, and super fun female instructors!) and mentors in STEM careers within our community, we hope to open eyes to the possibilities science provides for young female scientists, at the high school, post-secondary, and career levels. If you have any questions about the benefits of all-girls programming, please do not hesitate to contact us! Check out our Girls Only page for more information!
EUReKA! is happy to announce that we are continuing our Technology Camp! Last year in technology camp, participants built moving artwork through HTML and Java, constructed their own games and learned about coding! You don't just sit in front of the computer all day, though. The EUReKA! instructors challenge you in our daily capture the flag games, with hands-on engineering challenges, and during our weekly water-fight! Some of the projects this summer will be designed by other Actua network members and Google employees!
